loves language, theatre, and music. This passion took her out into the world and led to a multilingual life and work. She writes her texts alternately in German, French, English, and Spanish.
In addition to her work as a librettist and author, she also works as a voice‑over artist, actress, dramaturge and director.
Her creative output includes, among other works, the libretti for Penthesilea, Amadeo Roldán – La Luz Musical, A la ligne, Tania la Guerrillera and myRasputin.com.
As dramaturge and author, she revised the works Fidelio, Egmont and Das Paradies und die Peri, for the conductor Laurence Equilbey, which were performed in Paris at La Seine Musicale.
Her play Götter wie du und ich – eine olympische Komödie has been regularly performed by school theatre groups since 2007.
As a dubbing voice‑over artist, she has lent her voice to actresses such as Isabelle Huppert, Fanny Ardant, Aurore Clément, Nathalie Baye and Virginie Ledoyen. In addition, many people know Beate’s voice from French‑language textbooks used in school or from audio guides in museums.
As an actress, she appeared in various productions, amongst others with the Kammeroper Berlin, at the Théâtre Français, the Vagantenbühne, Hebbel am Ufer, the Schillertheater – and Renaissance Theatre Studios.
Beate Haeckl studied Romance and English philology in Heidelberg, worked as a DAAD lecturer at Goldsmiths’ College in London, obtained a postgraduate diploma in Theatre Studies in Cardiff, Wales, and later earned a Master’s degree in Creative Writing at Alice Salomon Hochschule.
